We Are One Empowerment Initiative (WAOEI™) empowers communities across West Africa through skill-building, creativity, and unified action — creating lasting change from the ground up.
Empowering Communities
Through Skill, Creativity,
and Unity.
WAOEI believes that sustainable progress is built by communities themselves — through education, economic opportunity, and the shared strength of people united by purpose.
Four focused initiatives designed to build economic resilience, develop talent, and document Africa's living story.
Hands-on vocational training in garment construction, pattern-making, and design for women and young people in the Greater Banjul Area. Participants graduate with market-ready skills and tools to launch their own enterprises.
Skills TrainingStructured mentorship, business literacy workshops, and micro-enterprise seed support for aspiring entrepreneurs. Focused on empowering women and youth to build financially independent, community-rooted businesses.
EntrepreneurshipRegular convenings that address local challenges in health, education, and civic participation. WAOEI facilitates knowledge exchange and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen community infrastructure from within.
CommunityA landmark visual storytelling project documenting the lives, resilience, and culture of communities across The Gambia and West Africa. Preserving heritage. Amplifying voices. Shifting the global narrative.

Ambassador Dr. Lord Ajmer is the visionary behind the We Are One Empowerment Initiative — a movement built on the conviction that lasting change begins when communities are equipped, connected, and empowered to lead themselves.
With deep roots in the Greater Banjul Area and a global perspective shaped by decades of civic leadership, Dr. Ajmer founded WAOEI in 2023 to address the gaps in skills development, economic opportunity, and cultural documentation across West Africa.
His approach bridges the diaspora and the continent — bringing together resources, expertise, and solidarity to build programs that create real, measurable outcomes for the communities WAOEI serves.
Under his leadership, WAOEI has launched vocational training academies, entrepreneurship programs, and the landmark "Children of Africa" documentary initiative — with more to come.
WAOEI welcomes partnerships with NGOs, development organizations, diaspora groups, and mission-aligned donors who share our commitment to community-led empowerment across West Africa.
